My Analysis On “GM Says Electric Cars’ Range Will Vary Widely”

Thank you, Mr. Lutz, for being honest about the Volt as well as what the real preferences for vehicles are among normal people in this country. If the best GM can do is provide a vehicle with a 28 mile range in winter for $40K, this concept is going to fail. Miserably. Yes, I know, the gasoline motor will kick off meeting in and recharge the battery when the power gets low, but seriously, no one wants to buy a Volt if the gas motor is going to have to kick in constantly.
BYD and others have much better solutions.
I hope Whitacre doesn’t shoot the messenger on this … GM needs Lutz to stick around.
